We are so excited to announce a brand new workshop coming to the nursery… our Pinguicula Terrarium Make & Take! We are thrilled to be partnering with Roots and Rarities, who will be leading this hands-on class and sharing their expertise along the way.
If you have never heard of a Pinguicula (or “Butterwort”), you are in for a treat. Pinguicula are carnivorous plants known for their adorable rosette shape and slightly sticky leaves that help them catch tiny insects. They are both fascinating and surprisingly beginner friendly, making them a fun and unique plant to grow.
During this workshop, Roots and Rarities will walk attendees step-by-step through creating their own mounted pinguicula terrarium display. They will provide instruction on design, plant placement, and materials, while also sharing care tips and guidance to help your new plants thrive once you bring them home.
Each attendee will be able to select up to four pinguicula to design their own rock display. A variety will be available to choose from, featuring different shapes, sizes, and colors so each creation can feel personal and one of a kind.
Whether you are a carnivorous plant enthusiast or just looking to try something new and creative, this workshop is a fun way to learn, create, and leave with a living piece of art.
