Get to the root of what makes these plants some of the most versatile in the garden!

Ornamental grasses and their close relatives—sedges and rushes—bring movement, texture, and four-season interest that many other plants can’t match.

In this class, Davis will break down the differences between the three groups (remember: sedges have edges, rushes are round, grasses are hollow down to the ground), and share design tips, overall care guidance, and the many wildlife benefits they provide. Whether you’re aiming for structure, softness, or pollinator-friendly planting, these unsung heroes of the garden deserve a spotlight.

Tip: This class will be outside so please wear appropriate footwear and bring something to take notes!

WHERE: Nursery grounds (weather permitting)
